Michaela: (looking over my salad) "Mom, that goat cheese is gross... it's like a eating a little box of vomit."

Me: (Yup... it's a natural blond.)

In the shoe aisle at Target with daughter trying on new spring Sabbath shoes:

Me: Walk a little so I can see if these are going to work.

(daughter walks across carpet out of shoe department onto tile floor in menswear and back)

Michaela: Yeah - these sound good.

Me: And that, my daughter is what's really important - first a shoe must sound good on a hard floor, look good on the foot, and hopefully not pinch.

Me: (to DH) I wish we'd started when they were littler... the "P" kids are respectful and considerate and obedient, they have servant's hearts and they know their place!

Jacob: (muttering as he walked through the room) Yeah...and it's probably in the basement ironing somebody else's clothes...
